Probably more than you wanted to know...
My name really is Lori. I have been in love with the art of writing for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first poem in 5th grade and called it "Me, Myself, and I." I didn't think much of it until my mom raved about it. Little did I know that that's just what moms do. But it inspired something in me and I've never lost the joy of it. When I discovered that people enjoyed hearing the details of their lives pieced together into witty verse, I said to myself, "People enjoy hearing the details of their lives pieced together into witty verse." So I began to write poems for family members as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, or just because. Many people who read my poems suggested I give the entrepreneur thing a go and write for others, so what you are reading is the result. I have searched the Internet, and there are other Lori's Stories sites out there, but I haven't found any quite like mine. There are also other poetry sites of course, but again, none quite like mine. I write for any occasion and will customize each piece down to the smallest of details. You'll want to make sure the gift I create for your loved one is the last one opened because you'll relish the oohs and aahs.
I can't take credit for anything I do. I believe that God gave me the talent to write, and it would be a shame not to use it to make people smile. I'm just fortunate that my parents named me Lori. It's like it was meant to be.
I do enjoy other things besides writing. I love the violin and am slowly learning to play. I like scuba diving - it's an amazing world under the ocean's surface! (See my Life page if you don't believe me.) I love to read and have more unread books waiting for me on my Nook than I will ever have time to finish. Music is a passion of mine, whether it's singing it, listening to it, or dancing to it. I have about 4000 songs in my library, but they just keep coming out with new ones! I love playing board games; I only need to find someone to play them with. I'm obsessed with exercise and excercise equipment; therefore, I can't allow myself to watch late night TV, or I'll end up with all sorts of useless contraptions. I love hiking, especially in the mountains during the fall, and the top two things on my bucket list are 1) to hike down the Grand Canyon and 2) visit Italy. I'm also using web coupons to do things that I wouldn't ordinarily do, like canvas painting, glass fusing, and working with a personal trainer. (That was only two sessions and he kicked my behind!) I am married, and I have two daughters, an awesomer than awesome dog named Tyson who I believe was created to be loved by me, and a crazy-affectionate cat named Cat. I love to laugh and love being around people who make me laugh. I'm not a shopper, I'm not a diva, and I'm no great beauty. I'm not a great cook, although I have recently started planning menus for the coming week and preparing ahead. (By recently, I mean 2 days ago. I may have to come back and revise this part!) I love all animals, to a fault, I'm afraid. I'm just a simpleton at heart. I don't always have a lot to say, but I'm always thinking. And I'm always writing. And I'm always thinking about writing! Oh, and I'm knitting my first scarf! I'm a bit of a scarf-aholic, so I figured I'd try to pick my own yarn and make one. It's about 10 feet long, and I still have half a skein left! Someone's going to have a warm neck this winter...
I hope to be in my second semester of Seminary this time next year, going for my M.A. in Apologetics.
Most importantly, I must thank my Creator, God in heaven, with Whom all things are possible. He has blessed me far beyond what I deserve, and this belongs to Him.
